Vetrix for Pet Owners

Any pet owner knows they will do almost anything to ensure that their pet’s health care is taken care of using the best technologies. When it comes to state-of-the-art pet care, treatment options for different conditions can vary. At Vetrix, we understand the passion a veterinarian and a pet owner feel for the pets’ health in their care. It is this same passion that has driven our technologies.

What Is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative medicine has fast rooted itself within the pet care industry. It has developed from the need to stimulate the body’s regenerative properties so that they can begin the healing process themselves for a better chance at successful veterinarian care.

Regenerative medicine calls on the body’s natural healing processes for faster and more effective healing of wounds and injuries—and to prevent prolonged wound care needs. It can reduce stress for both the owner and the animal when it’s time to take the pet home. Regenerative medicine helps speed up recovery times and lowers the risk of infections and further health issues because of poor healing.

How Is Vetrix Different?

Vetrix has established itself as an leading provider of veterinary regenerative medicine that has improved many animals’ lives while reducing veterinarians’ daily workload. An initial healing phase treatment plan differs from a successful treatment plan and prolonged vet care. We have several turn-key solutions at Vetrix that allow your veterinarian’s care plan to prioritize healing.

BioSIS

The BioSIS ECM is a regenerative extracellular matrix that helps the body heal. It’s a biomaterial surgically implanted into a wound to ensure that it not only heals, but also regenerates to resemble remodeled skin as much as possible. The matrix leaves behind functional, organized, and healthy tissue at the site of surgery.

When BioSIS is implanted, it acts as a scaffold for the patient’s cells to migrate and integrate. The patient’s cells deposit their collagen, which matures over time to form a strong and permanent tissue repair—while leaving no foreign material behind. BioSIS is gradually replaced as the patient’s tissue turns over because it is a collagen matrix in its most natural state of self-renewal.

EyeQ Amniotic Eye Drops

Eye health issues can be challenging to treat. Long-term use of eye drops to treat corneal conditions can be difficult for pets, especially after surgery. One of the first steps in ensuring that corneal regeneration is at its best is to use Vetrix EyeQ drops.

  • EyeQ Amniotic Eye Drops contain natural anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory components that complement traditional therapies, and create an environment that promotes corneal cell growth and migration.
  • A powdered amniotic membrane drop delivers components to the ulcer quickly. The convenient dropper bottle tip makes administration simple for pet owners.

Healion Amniotic Wound Powder

When healing a wound, it is vital to ensure that the healing environment is perfect. Healion is a veterinary-grade decellularized amniotic membrane: It is a fine, dry, sterilized white powder placed within a wound—whether surgical or resulting from a superficial injury.

The Healion amniotic wound matrix uses amnion’s natural healing properties to regulate inflammation and create an environment favorable for rapid cell migration.

EyeQ Amniotic Ocular Disc

Amniotic tissue has been used successfully as a surgical graft in various ophthalmic applications. Vetrix ® EyeQ offers shelf-stable, decellularized amniotic membrane discs that have been carefully processed to remove cells and other immunogens.

Amniotic membrane has been used to treat various eye disorders, including corneal epithelial surface reconstruction in cases of partial limbal stem cell deficiency, corneal ulcers and perforations, severe acute inflammation, and other severe ocular disorders. What was previously expensive and difficult to obtain is now available in EyeQ as a shelf-stable, cost-effective ocular graft solution.

What Our Customers Have To Say

I recently had the opportunity to need the Eye Q Drops in a Shih Tzu that was getting ready to rupture its eye from a severe melting ulcer. I started the drops TID on 03/01/2022. The dog was also taking Ofloxacin and oral medication. The patient was re-examined today and the eye is almost completely healed. The dog is not painful and the owner commented that he was playing with his ball.

… I just ordered a case of product!

9 year old mixed breed dog presenting with a 6 mm diameter near full thickness corneal ulcer with extensive keratomalacia in the superior temporal quadrant of the left eye.  Extensive keratomalacia is seen despite use of antibiotics and serum for the past two weeks by rDVM.  Two days prior to presentation the owner noted the eye having greater discharge and the dog more uncomfortable.  The eye really needed a graft, either amnion, BioSiS or conjunctiva but financial constraints prevented surgery.  I continued current therapy but added amnion eye drops.  After one week the eye is comfortable, no discharge and has no keratomalacia.  The ulcer remains but now is only about half corneal thickness and 4 mm diameter.  I gave the owner my last 5ml bottle of amnion eye drops.  Pretty impressive turn around. -Case still in progress.

The drops have been amazing, and well received with our clientele. Since having the drops on our shelf, there have been a few cases where it appears that the drops are the difference between a progressive infected corneal rupture and the patient keeping the eye. One case in particular is a dog with inflammatory brain changes that lost the ability to blink one eye. The addition of the EyeQ drops were incredible and really helped improve corneal overall health.
