Help Us Support Church and His Recovery

Often referred to as man’s best friend, dogs bring a special joy and calmness to our lives. Their loyal companionship and unconditional love make owning a dog something to be revered. So when we see a dog suffer from unthinkable animal cruelty, we feel called to help, providing caring love and support in return.

Meet Church

A beautiful black German Shepard mixed dog, Church came to know us under horrific circumstances. In late January, Church was found in the parking lot of Gospel Mission Church with extensive injuries. According to Sullivan County authorities, Church had been dragged behind a white sedan in the church’s parking lot late at night. He was taken to Andes Straley Veterinary Hospital for treatment, where its team continues to support Church in his recovery.

Stealing Our Hearts

It wasn’t long after Church’s arrival that the veterinary practice noticed his love and affection for its team, despite the horrible trauma he had endured. Wagging his tail to greet friendly faces, Church is in good spirits, eating well and enjoying the snuggles he receives every day. The care team is thankful to have him under its watch to support Church in his long journey to healing.

A Community of Generosity

The entire Andes Straley team is thankful for the community and its members who support Church and his recovery with generous donations. The outpouring of love has proven to be amazing, raising funds for his current medical needs and care that will continue in the future. A portion of the community donations are also going toward ongoing investigation to find the individuals who committed the crime of aggravated animal cruelty.
